Pixelcase worked with the City of Albany to give visitors to WA’s Great Southern a glimpse of the highlights of the region, enticing them to seek out tourism hotspots with a virtual reality experience installed in the Albany Visitor Centre.
The Albany region features some truly stunning natural scenery within it’s 4300 square kilometres boundaries, and City of Albany Visitor Services Project Leader Hamish Fell said the VR experience was a different way of thinking about promoting the region.
“During the experience you go places where you wouldn’t be able to in real life – there’s a part where you go swimming with killer whales at the Bremer Canyon.”
With high altitude aerial shots – include a stomach churning drop into the ocean at The Gap – as well as underwater footage, Pixelcase pushed the limits of 360 video technology to deliver a unique tourism showcase that spotlights Albany as a forward-thinking holiday destination in a timeless landscape.
Head into the Albany Visitor Centre the next time you’re down in the Great Southern to experience it for yourself.
